Advisory Council Mission

The mission of the GT/Enrichment Advisory Council is to enhance the opportunities and experiences of students in NISD by identifying and recommending improvements for the ALPHA Program, by expanding public opinion and awareness through communications, and by providing funds for grants and specialized GT projects.

Committees:

  • Program Development Committee Purpose

Develop a strong understanding of the ALPHA Program, collect input from students, parents, teachers, and administrators in order to encourage, promote, and recommend improvements to the NISD ALPHA Program.

  • Public Relations Committee Purpose

Promote the NISD ALPHA Program so that parents, teachers, administrators, and decision makers are aware of the benefits to students and society.

  • Fund Raising Committee Purpose

Develop the infrastructure necessary to support the iGniTe Fund; infrastructure includes mechanisms for generating, managing, and distributing funds for the ALPHA grants and specialized ALPHA projects.  

Monthly Advisory Council meetings are held at Driggers Elementary School (6901 Shadow Mist; San Antonio, TX 78238) from 5:30-7:00 P.M. every third Thursday.  Check this site regularly for changes to meeting dates. The last two meetings of this school year are: April 19, 2012, May 17, 2012.
